京都の中心部、河原町通と鴨川の間に小さな川があります。それは「高瀬川」と呼ばれ、もともとは京都の中心部を宇治川、そして大阪湾へとつなぐ運河として作られました。現在では、輸送には使われておらず、始点の桟橋と展示された船が残っているだけです。春には川沿いに桜が咲き誇り、京都を彩ります。
There is a small river between Kawaramachi Street and the Kamogawa River in the center of Kyoto. It is called ‘Takasegawa,’ and it was originally built as a canal connecting the center of Kyoto to the Uji River and then to Osaka Bay. Nowadays, it is no longer used for transportation; only the starting pier and a displayed boat remain. Cherry blossoms line the river, adorning Kyoto in the spring.
