高田城は、新潟県上越市にある江戸時代初期の城跡です。1614年、徳川家康の六男・松平忠輝の居城として築かれました。石垣をほとんど使わず、土塁と堀を中心に造られた平城であることが特徴です。
現在は高田城址公園として整備され、復元された三重櫓を見ることができます。春には約4,000本の桜が咲き、ライトアップされた夜桜は「日本三大夜桜」の一つとして知られています。

Takada Castle is a historic castle site in Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture. It was built in 1614 as the residence of Matsudaira Tadateru, the sixth son of Tokugawa Ieyasu. Unlike many Japanese castles, it was built mainly with earthen embankments and moats, rather than stone walls.
Today, the site is maintained as Takada Castle Site Park, where visitors can see the reconstructed three-story turret. In spring, about 4,000 cherry trees bloom around the park, and the illuminated night view is known as one of Japan’s three great night cherry blossom scenes.
